There lived a nine-year-old boy Alex Mark with his parents and six-year-old sister, Innaya. He was a grade four student and was given a project from recycled material for the school science fair, ‘Trash to Treasure’.

Alex thought of creating a Time Machine to foresee the future and evade the approaching danger for himself and his peers. So, Alex started looking for things that could give shape to the Time machine.

One Sunday, for a weekend break, he goes to the beach with his father and Innaya. While his father was sun-basking, Alex moved around and far from the shore, found an abandoned, crumbled, broken boat. Also littered, there were steel rods, a giant shell, some straw and a gold bottle. He contemplates that most of the things fit his requirement for the project. Alex, with Innaya’s help, delightedly collected and brought home the stuff.

Alex imagining the machine as a seagull started crafting it and meticulously placed the objects. Then, unexpectedly he finds a folded, torn paper in the gold bottle. To his amazement, it’s a treasure map of a nearby island, Tricketybottom. This place he knew is hounded by pirates and is a treasure mine for gold, gems and jewels. Next, Alex looks for an old clock. Since he couldn’t find one, he decided to use his discarded Tab equipped with a compass, GPS and satellite-enabled connection as this will further help him in easy navigation.

Alex ponders what should be the fuel for his time machine. Innaya suggests using juice as fuel. Alex recollects his science lesson that juice can work as a good source of semiconductors and electron transfer enablers. He fills the gold bottle with the juice and sits in the time machine to check. It accidentally starts, and Alex gets teleported to an island.

Tricketybottom, the gold mine, had gems and jewels scattered around with a pack of pirates partying and guarding the treasure. Alex was astounded and wonderstruck. He rushed the Time Machine to the station house and informed the cops.

The cops, after hearing his exploration heaved a sigh of relief as they have been on the lookout for pirates. And, all their previous attempts failed because they disappeared before they could catch hold of them. The cops immediately came to the island with Alex in his Time Machine and captured the pirates.

Cops praised Alex and told King about him. The King gifted Alex a Science Lab and an assistant to continue with his inventions. Alex was famous all over Bikitybottom.

Reyaansh BhardwajScottish High International SchoolGurugramGrade 3 Bikitybottom, an ancient and picturesque place, was ruled by King Andrew Xavier.
